There are about 10,000 reasons to be in Scottsdale in the winter, but possibly the number one reason is the 58th Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. The largest event of its kind in the world, the Arabian Horse Show Scottsdale it is held at Westworld. Since 1955, millions of people have come from all over the world to attend this exciting event. What started out as 50 horses has grown to over 2,000 horses competing for a chance to win.
This is the place to see and be seen when you visit the Arabian Horse Show. One of the first things you will want to do is to take a tour of the barns. Many of the Valley’s best and most well known Arabian barns will be letting spectators get a rare look at some of the most majestic horses in the world. Get up close and personal and find out just what makes these horses so special. You will learn about the history of Arabians, what judges look for during shows and buying Arabians as an investment, and bloodlines, just to name a few. This is a not to be missed event! Tours continue throughout the duration of the show, so there are plenty of opportunities to meet these amazing creatures.
In addition, there are over 300 vendors selling jewelry, leather, art, clothes, and horse and pet accessories. They range in price from hundreds of thousands of dollars in diamonds to a $15 stuffed toy horse. There is also a “cuisine court” featuring gourmet and fast food from all over the world. There is something for just about everyone so see and do at the Scottsdale Arabian show.
Over 250,000 spectators come to watch the mystique of the Arabian Horse each year at Westworld. There are over 640 classes to watch, including Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Working Cow horses, Reining classes, Roping, and the ever popular Mounted Native costume classes. The fun, colorful, elaborate outfits atop the horses adorned in native costumes is one class you don’t want to miss.
