The car auction season is ready to begin in the beautiful city of Scottsdale. Barrett-Jackson, one of the most recognizable names in car auctions, will be gearing up for business this month for the 42nd annual car collector auction from January 13th-20th. Westworld, located at 16601 N. Pima, will host this special event that is expected to auction more than 1,000 cars with no reserve pricing and will also have many other automotive memorabilia available for sale along with art, jewelry, and Barrett-Jackson merchandise.
Barrett-Jackson has been in the car business for over 40 years and has set up its headquarters right here in Scottsdale. Every year people around the world look forward to this event that is broadcast live on the SPEED Channel and is attended by more than 250,000 people. With such a wide variety of amazing cars to see it is no surprise that Barrett-Jackson is an event not to be missed.
This year some of the main highlights hitting the auction block are a 2009 Ford F-150 KingRanch 4 x 4 Supercrew, owned by President George W. Bush, with all proceeds to be donated to Fisher House Charity (give aid to military families). Many Shelby collectors will be excited to see an unrestored 67’ GT500 Survivor Car on the block and even more so when they note the incredibly low mileage of 9,841 miles. Another highlight of this amazing event will be the sale of a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L-88 Racecar that is expected to garner much attention for its numerous victories.
Not in the market for a hot rod, muscle car, or a one of kind specialty car? Don’t worry this event appeals to all ages and has many fun events for families and people just wanting to see the great cars and people watch. Tickets prices vary throughout the week, with weekend days garnering higher prices, but there are many days such as Family day where children 12 and under are free. You can also purchase a weekly pass in order to enjoy all that Barrett-Jackson has to offer. For more information on tickets check out Barrett-Jackson Tickets.
