El_Dorado_Private_School_pic1Searching for the right school for your children in North Scottsdale can be an arduous task. This decision will be one that impacts your children for many years and will ultimately guide their future. With so many options to choose from El Dorado Private School in Grayhawk Real Estate should definitely be on your list of schools to consider.

EDPS is a non-parochial school that has been successfully educating students since the 1970’s with a progressive approach to educating their students. Allowing each child to advance at their own pace which in turn promotes enhanced learning and ultimately academic achievement. Utilizing a curriculum that exceeds the requirements of the State of Arizona and with a low student to teacher ratio, each of their students is able to succeed.

The school in Grayhawk Homes for Sale also implements the Accelerated reading program in first through eighth grades. The AR program helps improve children’s reading ability and pushes them to read quality books at their reading level. To date the students at EDPS have read an astounding 35,864,721 words!
The success of the students at EDPS can be seen by their performance on the Stanford Test. Starting in Kindergarten all grades are tested using the nationally recognized Stanford test which compares students throughout the United States. EDPS students continually perform above grade level in every area of the test. Though EDPS is extremely focused on the academic achievement of its students they also are interested in having well-rounded students. Therefore, they offer many opportunities for extracurricular activities. Students in the Grayhawk Real Estate area may get involved in student council from grades fifth to eighth grade. The student government is very involved in helping serve the school and the community.

Other extra-curricular activities at EDPS are coed school sports teams such as basketball, soccer, flag football, and softball. EDPS also offers numerous after school enrichment programs like chess, drama, gymnastics, golf, hip hop, and many more. Also, for parents with a busy work schedule EDPS provides extended care with before and after care on an as needed basis. In order to make a complete school community EDPS has found it important to have a very active Parent Action Committee (PAC). PAC members, all parents of students, offer their time and talent by organizing fundraisers and events to benefit the school and its students. El Dorado Private School is located on 20624 N. 76th Street in the Grayhawk Homes for Sale area of North Scottsdale and begins educating children from age 3 all the way to eighth grade.
