The Fountain Hills Theater will premier its new musical comedy “Curtains,” set in the brassy, bright and promising year of 1959 on Friday, May 6th, 2016. The musical will be playing May 6th-22nd with performances at 8 pm Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 pm on Sundays.
A reception will be held on opening night for all those attending that evening, featuring free appetizers and soft drinks!
In the musical “Curtains,” Boston’s Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical version of “Robin Hood.” When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage the entire cast and crew are suspects, then enters a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan. “Curtains” promises to be a hilarioiusly entertaining play within a play, as well as a “whodunit” new musical featuring one of the last scores by legendary, Tony Award-winning songwriters John Kander and Fred Ebb. “Curtains” was nominated for nine Tony Awards, winning for its star, David Hyde Pierce. “Curtains” is produced by Patty Torrilhon and Patricia Tonzi and directed by Peter J. Hill. The show is choreographed by Noel Irick and musically directed by Jennifer Whiting. Tickets are $33 for adults, and $28 for ages 17 and under. Seniors receive a $5 discount on all Thursday performances. Group rates, veteran and student discounts are available.
