With Christmas around the corner, it’s santa, christmas lights, and the delicious smell of gingerbread everywhere. Many Scottsdale hotels are celebrating, and taking their cheer to a grand level once again is the JW Marriott Resort & Spa near Desert Ridge. They have unveiled their life-size, walk-through Gingerbread Village! The mini-molasses city consists of 13 four by six-feet gingerbread houses and a clock tower in Santa’s village. The tasty mini-city is spread over 1,500-sqft of space and took 4,000 pounds of gingerbread cookie dough and 3,240 gingerbread bricks to make shingle roofs for the houses. It also took 2,000 pounds of icing, 750 pounds of sugar and only 25,000 eggs to be built. The Marriot’s 17 pastry chefs took over 800 hours combined to create the village. Come see the Gingerbread Houses at Desert Ridge 2014! The event runs through December 28th and Santa’s Elves will visit on December 20 and 22nd.
