The Boulders Club is set against the beautiful Sonoran Desert landscape in North Scottsdale at the Boulders Resort in Carefree. This semi private country club has two perfectly manicured courses, The North Course and The South Course. These championship courses, both of which were designed by Jay Morrish and built in 1984, are set against the magnificent boulder formations and natural desert terrain. Don’t be surprised if you share the course with some bobcats or coyotes! The North course features a 6,811 yard, par 72 while the South Course has 6,726 yard, par 71. If you are a guest staying at the resort you may make reservations up to 90 days in advance, the public can play as well but it is on a space available basis. The course offers lessons and has full services such as driving range, chipping greens and putting greens. They do have rentals as well so if you don’t play that often and don’t own your own clubs they’ve got you covered! Just an FYI, you must wear a collared shirt with sleeves and No Denim!

If you venture over to the Desert Ridge area in North Scottsdale, Arizona check out the Wildfire Golf Club. Located at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, the two 18 hole courses here, The Nick Faldo and The Arnold Palmer Signature course both have views of the McDowell Mountains. The facility features putting greens, driving range and GPS systems in each golf car. I guess they don’t want you getting lost in the desert!
