Have you ever wondered what there is to do on Saturday night in North Scottsdale, other than dinner and a movie? Well, I bet you never thought of a cultural night out in Scottsdale. Believe it or not located in the North Scottsdale Real Estate area are some great cultural experiences to be had!
The SMoCA or the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is located in the heart of Scottsdale on East Second Street. This contemporary museum features modern art, architecture and design. Founded in 1999, the museum is always changing their exhibits and hosting cultural events for the community to enjoy. Whether you want to take a docent led tour or explore on your own, you are sure to find some interesting exhibits to stimulate your senses. The museum hosts workshops and events for every age from preschoolers to the adult art lover. What’s even better, the museum is relatively in expensive and sometimes free! If you visit on Thursday’s, entry into the museum is free all day, other days of the week is $7 for adults, $5 for students and if you are 15 and under it is free too. Keep in mind, the museum is closed on Mondays. This is a great find in North Scottsdale Real Estate.
If you happen to be at the museum for the free Thursday nights, you can also head over to the Art Walk. Old Town Scottsdale is full of wonderful art galleries, and every Thursday evening there is an Art Walk, guests can wander in and out of the galleries and enjoy wine tasting, live entertainment, sample some food and of course buy some one of kind works of art. Located along Main Street and Marshall Way in the North Scottsdale Real Estate neighborhood, this free event which is year round ( except Thanksgiving) is from 7pm-9pm and has been taking place for 30 years. With over 100 galleries in this district it makes for a wonderful night out. There are many different styles of art to see, from southwest, Native American, Western, and contemporary you are sure to find something to catch your eye and perhaps bring home!
Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. The center located on East Second Street hosts various performances throughout the year. With it’s different theaters, all of which have an intimate setting, really make watching a performance an exceptional and unique experience. There is also an outdoor amphitheater and beautiful grounds surrounding the arts center. The talent here ranges from dancing, comedy shows, orchestras, jazz musicians and concerts. Some well know acts come here like Clint Black, Sandra Bernhard, Mandy Patinkin and Dionne Warwick are just a few on the calendar. There are some seasonal events as well like the annual Scottsdale Arts Festival and Scottsdale Culinary Festival. Even though you may not live in huge metropolis like New York, the North Scottsdale Real Estate area has a lot to offer in the arts and culture department too!
