Frank Lloyd Wright began building the desert masterpiece Taliesin West in 1937 as his personal winter home, studio, and architectural campus. The site, located on the beautiful Sonoran desert near McDowell Mountain Ranch and Ancala, now offers a broad range of guided public tours where visitors experience Wright’s brilliant ability to integrate indoor and outdoor spaces. Public tours are offered everyday from 9 am-4 pm, except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Tours range from one to three hours long. In addition to the variety of daily tours, Taliesin West also offers classes, camps, and other events. For visitors who want to learn more about Frank Lloyd Wright, Anneliese’s Bookstore at Taliesin West stocks the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® products and books by and about Frank Lloyd Wright, his life, and his award-winning contributions to architecture.
