In addition to the presitgious award, the school also received a $500 check the Arizona Foundation and a banner that the school will proudly display for the students and school community to enjoy.
Grayhawk Elementary submitted an application to the Arizona Education Foundation this past winter. The Foundation then does a comprehensive school assessment evaluating areas of student focus and support, school culture, active teaching and learning, community and parent involvement, leadership and curriculum. Once Principal Norm Pratt was notified that Grayhawk Elementary was an award recipient he stated, “I’m proud to announce that today I received notification that we have been recognized as an A+ School of Excellence! This is a tremendous achievement and I am extremely proud of our staff, parents, and community. Thank you for supporting all the great things that happen here at Grayhawk Elementary. It is truly a special place.”
