5 Extra Precautions We Are Taking When Showing Homes

The Coronavirus is having a mixed impact on the housing market but it is not coming to a complete stop. It is not deterring home buyers and sellers from taking advantage of the lowest mortgage rates in history. People buy and sell homes either because they want to or have to and we are here to help. We work with trusted team members to assure safe and smooth transactions.

The Sibbach Team is committed to serving clients and is taking extra precautions to keep buyers and sellers healthy during this unprecedented pandemic.

Private showings are scheduled for one buyer/family at a time. Our team is available to show you any home that you are interested in. Contact us and one of our team members will arrange a tour at your convenience.

With respect to the current social distancing rule, we ask buyers to meet us at each home instead of everyone driving in one vehicle. This will also allow our agents to prepare the home for you to tour safely.

Our agents arrive at showings before clients to open doors and windows to minimize doorknob touching and allow fresh air inside. Additionally, doorknobs, counters and other high traffic touch areas are being cleaned with sanitizing wipes before and after each showing.

Furthermore, agents have hand sanitizer and gloves available, or ask clients to minimize touching anything inside the home.

The use of video chats for virtual tours and walkthroughs have also been a great tool. Apps such as FaceTime for iPhone users, Skype or WhatsApp for Android users, as well as Facebook Video Chat work well and allow buyers to tour the property from the comfort of their own home. It allows clients to social distance by staying at home in quarantines or self-isolation.

The Sibbach Team is and always has been well trained on using technology for buying and selling real estate. Innovative thinking and exploring new strategies is our specialty. Our modified procedures are just some of the reasons as to why this last weekend alone we had 6 properties go under contract!
