Celebrate Oktoberfest a few days early this weekend in Fountain Hills. The 2018 Fountain Hills Oktoberfest returns September 28th and September 29th from 5pm to 10pm at Fountain Park, 12925 N Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills.
Mayor Linda Kavanagh will kick off the Oktoberfest on September 28th with the official keg tapping ceremony at 6pm at Fountain Park. The original Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, was first organized as a “Volksfest” in celebration of Bavarian King Ludwig I’s marriage in 1810, and it continues as a popular annual tradition.
The 11th Annual Fountain Hills Oktoberfest is a celebration of German traditions with a band flown in from Germany, mouthwatering Brats, Schnitzels, Apple strudel prepared with secret recipes and homemade potato pancakes cooked on site as well as the famous Pretzels.
Attendees can compete for fun and prizes in the famous Beer Stein holding competition, best dressed Oktoberfest competition and the Alphorn blowing contest. The family friendly event includes a fun interactive area where kids can enjoy themselves with bounce houses and a rock climbing wall free of charge.
The fun begins at 5pm on Friday, September 29th until 10pm and continues Saturday, September 30th from 5pm-10pm. For more information, visit: www.Fountaineventsfh.com
Entrance fee is $5 for 21+, under 20 are free. Wear a Dirndl or Lederhosen and the entrance fee is waived!
