Is Spot getting a little chubby? Too much kibbles, you say?
Well, if you live in Grayhawk and you like to run with your dog, you are in luck. You have miles of running trails right in your own backyard. Meandering through Grayhawk are 30 miles of walking, running and hiking trails, all pet friendly. You and your best friend Spot can walk out your front door and begin your journey. Along the trails you will find not only beautiful scenery, but also there are stations located throughout the trails that have bags for you to clean up after your pooch. The best part is, once you are done with your run, you can take your dog to the expansive Grayhawk park and throw a ball or a Frisbee for him. He will sleep on the couch the rest of the day after your busy outing (or is that you that will sleep on the couch?).
If you are looking for a something a little more vertical, try the Gateway Loop in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Located at 18333 N. Thompson Peak Parkway, there are more than two dozen designated trails with all levels from novice to advanced. All trails are well maintained, with abundant signage to help you get around.
So put a leash on Spot, bring some water, and go burn some calories!
