On Sunday, March 13th, 2016 St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will start early! From 11am to 6pm Fountain Park, which boasts the fourth tallest fountain in the nation, transforms into the Emerald Isle for Fountain Hills St. Patrick’s Festival. Check out this guide to learn more about the family-friendly celebration of Irish tradition.
-At 1 pm the famed fountain of Fountain Hills sprouts geysers of green that reach up to 562 feet high and continue their awe-inspiring spurts every hour on the hour until 6pm.
-Dance a jig to the tunes of Traveler, a world music act that fuses classic Celtic melodies with rock.
-Sip Irish beers, served cold, frothy, and green.
-Enjoy traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage, along with hamburgers and hot dog (all of which are decidedly not green!)
-Wee ones enjoy jaunts in a bouncy house and treks up a rock-climbing wall, plus face painting, balloon animals, and a basketball hoops contest
-Festival-goers can meet special guest former NBA star and Phoenix Suns’ ambassador Steven Hunter, who would have an unfair advantage in the kids’ basketball hoops contest!
-What to Wear: Green! The wearer of the best Irish costume wins a PRIZE!
